SEED for Sustainable Development signed a strategic partnership agreement with Field Ready to implement innovative development projects that enhance sustainability and meet the basic needs of communities in the Gaza Strip. This agreement comes within the framework of the two organizations’ joint efforts to support populations affected by crises, by developing practical and sustainable solutions that contribute to improving the quality of life.

This partnership resulted in the implementation of a pioneering project to provide alternative energy in the Gaza Strip, where an integrated solar energy system was installed that serves hundreds of residents daily. The project targeted the Rafah area in the southern Gaza Strip, one of the areas most affected by recurring crises, where the solar system now provides alternative electricity to about 300 people daily.

The project is distinguished by providing vital solutions such as enabling displaced people in tents to charge their phones and laptops and operate lighting units at night, which helped them manage their daily lives amid the conditions of the siege and deprivation of basic electricity services.

Commenting on the agreement, SEED’s management indicated the importance of cooperating with Field Ready in designing and implementing innovative projects that achieve sustainability and support the most needy groups in the Gaza Strip. She stressed that the solar energy project is a successful model of fruitful cooperation that contributes to meeting the needs of communities in a sustainable manner.

For its part, Field Ready explained that this agreement highlights the role of international partnerships in providing practical and applicable solutions on the ground, especially in communities facing exceptional challenges such as the Gaza Strip.

The solar energy project is a qualitative step in a series of development projects that aim to enhance reliance on alternative and sustainable energy sources, and alleviate the suffering of the population in light of the ongoing crises.

This agreement confirms the commitment of the two institutions to unify their efforts to achieve sustainable development in Gaza, and open new horizons of cooperation to provide more creative solutions that serve the most needy communities.
